Who We Are

The Homer Flight

The Homer Flight is located on the shores of Kachemak Bay surrounded by beautiful mountains and glaciers, the Civil Air Patrol Homer Flight is located on the airport grounds in 2 CAP buildings.

When Cadets get up in the air with CAP Pilots, they have the luxury of experiencing both runway takeoffs and flying on a float plane from gorgeous Beluga Lake.

The Hangar houses the primary meeting location which gives Cadets a robust Education Center and a large project build, PT and drill space.

The flight is built on an incredibly strong foundation of leadership including Educators, former Military, Entrepreneurs and a former CAP Cadet. That breadth of Senior Member talent is the secret to the quick growth and supports a sustainable, successful future in Homer.

This Flight combines both a consistent drive for education, fitness and leadership development with an energized spirit of fun and adventure. This balance creates a fulfilling environment where Cadets of diverse backgrounds can thrive.

Joining as a Senior Member supports the valuable Cadet Program and future Search and Rescue missions. The year-round program for Cadets is a unique offering for kids in the Southern Peninsula, fulfilling an important need in the community.

People with all types of backgrounds are welcome to join CAP Homer, not requiring experience in the military or as a pilot, just a commitment to actively help sustain the important missions of the organization.
